Aspire Nautilus Replacement Coil (BVC)

The Aspire Nautilus 2 tank is the successor to the original Nautilus and Nautilus Mini tanks. It features a 2ml capacity and a Top Filling mechanism, along with an expanded set of airflow options. This allows the user to dial just the right airflow regardless of coil choice.

Aspire have produced a new 0.7ohm coil for the Nautilus 2, and while it technically is a Sub-ohm atomiser, it's not really designed for the higher powered, direct-to-lung vaping, and should be considered a mouth-to-lung vape. The Nautilus 2 tank is also backwards compatible with the existing Nautilus coils, rated at 1.6ohm and 1.8ohms.

Contains:

  • 1 x Nautilus 2 Tank
  • 1 x Spare Coil
  • 1 x Extra Glass Section
  • 8 x Spare O Rings
  • 1 x User Manual
  • 1 x Warning Card
  • 1 x Spare Drip Tip

Features:

  • 2ml Capacity
  • Top Fill
  • Sub Ohm and Above Ohm Coil Options
  • Metal Sleeve

Important information about Sub Ohm Vaping:

These coils are designed for sub-ohm vaping. They require more vaping experience to use safely, and extra care should be taken when using a sub ohm tank and mod. The coils will only work on a mod capable of firing sub ohm atomisers. Please ensure that your batteries can handle the extra power requirements, and that your mod can handle the amps.

We also advise not to use any e-liquid with more than 6mg of nicotine, as your vapour may taste harsh. Sub ohm vaping produces a bigger throat hit than standard coils, and extra care should be taken.

Good tank - I bought a second one (13 September 2017)

One of these came with the Zelos kit. On balance, I like it. I bought a second one to put on another mod so I can switch. The stainless steel one is very presentable, in a medical instrument kind of way. (It's a lot easier to unscrew than the aluminium one.)

Good points

1. After you get the hang of it, it produces good flavour. You can adjust the airflow from golf-ball-in-garden-hose to quite airy (but it will never be enough for DTL).

2. The drip tip is comfortable, especially the stainless steel one.

3. It's reasonably silent, I have another tank which is very noisy and sounds like a child sucking on an empty Coke in McDonalds.

4. It feels and looks well-made, as if it was designed and manufactured with care.

Bad points

1. It wets itself all over the glass every time you break the seal to open it for a refill. Slightly annoying, but not that big a deal.

2. The top cover always ends up too tight so sometimes difficult to remove the thing to refill it as the whole lot will just unscrew from the mod. This seems to be a heat expansion thing.

3. Difficult to get the top off as nothing to grip on the bottom.

Old Bad Points that I have now overcome

1. Gurgling and flooding. It never floods now that I turn it upside down for the last few turns once the o-ring on the cover bites when tightening it.

2. Coil coming out. Ony happened twice. Solution: tighten the coil into the deck/base a bit tighter than you'd like. You can always use pliers to unscrew the used coil. It's going in the bin anyway.

Never had it actually leak in use. I'm going to get another one as I get bored with the same liquid all the time and hate filling tanks. (Or maybe an iJoy Elf, although they're hard to find.) It does ooze a little from the top seal onto the tank glass when opening it. Use a cloth, is the only solution I know to that.

I've settled on 0.7 ohm coils at about 19W and some 18mg 70VG tobacco liquid and it's all fine.

It can vape 100VG liquids without getting bunged up. Although these are only available in silly flavours so I don't vape these much. I vape 70VG all day on it and the flavour is good with the coil changed once a week.

The most frustrating, annoying tank ever! Good flavour though. (06 September 2017)

I'm a mouth to lung vaper and own a fair amount of different tanks. I have the original Nautilus, which is great but can sometimes be a nightmare to unscrew for filling.

The Nautilus 2 is the most fiddly, annoying, leaky tank I've ever encountered. It is seriously flawed in its design. It floods badly and I've lost loads of liquid, which is of course, criminal. I've watched all the videos and read all the tips on how to avoid flooding. Obviously closing the airholes when refilling is a given and I've also flipped the tank upside down for the last screw on closing which helps a little but not much.

Probably the most irritating thing about this tank though is every time you unscrew to refill, the bloody coil unscrews with the top. The coil is always screwed in as tight as possible but you have to have the top screwed on to the perfect position to ensure it doesn't take the coil with it when removing. You then have to clean juice off the connection and the whole process is very messy.

The glass gets liquid all over the outside and it's generally a messy, cumbersome process. I've owned it for several months and have given this tank a fair few chances to impress but most the time it ends up being cleaned and put back in its box while I return to more trustworthy tanks.

The flavour from the coils is great though. The only positive.

Peace.

Great tank, however... (04 September 2017)

This is a great, solid, beautiful looking tank.

However, there is a slight fault in that over filling the tank causes the chimney to flood, as you will find many people commenting on. It's not a deal breaker, but it means the tank in reality holds a lot less than 2ml and I find I have to refill it 10x more than the original. The glass also gets rather clammy and I have to wash my hands every fill.

While it has top fill, it's not actually that productive, it's actually quicker for me to unscrew the bottom off the nautilus mini 3x a day than the top off the Nautilus 2 13x a day. And it's no where near as messy, takes the same coils and for me produces the best draw.

So while the design of the Nautilus 2 is a much needed upgrade, and the extra airflow is a welcome option, in my opinion the performance of the original Nautilus and Nautilus Mini are superior and more efficient in my daily use. It was always going to be difficult to beat the 10/10 original, but this is still a great tank and I would give the Nautilus 2 a solid 9/10.

Great product (17 August 2017)

Being new to vaping a friend gave me a mod and a tank to get started but wanted something of my own so saw this and liked the look of it. Works great and love using it.

Not impressed (25 July 2017)

Bought this mod with a pack of 0.7ohm BVC coils. Initially I was impressed. Later that night I had a leak so I assumed something was loose / I over-filled.

After cleaning it all, assuring I didn't over fill it, and assuring everything was tight. The same thing happened the following day. Constantly wiping it down and cleaning it out.

Running it on a Zelos @ 20-23W with 0.7. Or @ 10-13W with the 1.8 ohm.

Love this evolution by Aspire! (14 June 2017)

I am an Aspire fan. Have been using the Nautilus mini tank forever.
This one is next in evolution and is even better, increased air flow and even 0.7 ohm coil option.
The only drawback, as for the Nautilus mini, more than 70% VG is impossible. Love this tank!

What we wanted (06 June 2017)

This tank is a great addition to anyone's set up. I have several sub ohm and mtl tanks and with the addition of the great 0.7ohm coil this tank provides flavour and a nice warm hit without being obnoxious with clouds. Perfect for watching tv with your gf or drinking in a vape friendly bar.
It's quite a big tank as far as mtl type tanks go but I think it looks good and sits well on most mods (where as my nautilus mini looks a bit silly on bigger mods).
Haven't thrown a .7 ohm into my mini yet so would not like to compare flavours but the airflow is smoother and more easily adjusted and the top fill is cleaner and will no doubt tackle issues the old nautilus had with coils jamming in.
You cant go wrong buying this tank.

Perfect!!! (25 May 2017)

This Nautilus 2 tank is a definite upgrade from the original nautilus mini tank I had.

I'm using it with the 1.8ohm Clapton coils for the Aspire Triton Mini on 16W. The balance between flavour, throat hit and vapour production in my opinion is spot on i'm currently vaping a 50/50 liquid in the tank.

I love the new stylish look to the tank and is very handy being a top fill tank with a wide range of airflow adjustment.

Also for the price its not a wallet breaker for anyone looking to get into vaping for the first time.

nice tank (29 April 2017)

Really like this tank. Easy filled, doesnt leak, solid and sturdy. Nice draw, simple and easy to use.

Only issue Ive had is mentioned in another review.......Ive had the coil screw out when trying to screw the top off to refill. Just make sure the coil is screwed in as tight as possible and not to overtighten the casing.

Im not vaping for huge clouds, just stopping the nasty cigs and this tank I found more than fulfilled my expectations.

Peace.

Great Flavour (16 April 2017)

This is a nice little tank. I'd recommend not filling it as high as the insert would suggest. About midway up the threads is what I have found works best or you risk a bit of flooding and gurgling. However this issue is easily solved if you encounter it by removing the drip tip and dabbing a bit of twisted tissue into the coil to pick up any excess liquid. I have also found that sometimes because of the way the threads turn it will remove the coil when you remove the case; as such I vape almost dry before refilling. I love it with the 0.7 ohm coils and the airflow between 3 and full open and my mod set between 18W and 21W. With this set up you get really fantastic flavour. Coils are the old BVC coils from the nautilus which I've never had an issue with. The update in tank design from the old nautilus adding a bit of protection for the glass is a great addition and it's also a little shorter. I bought the kit with the Aspire Zelos mod in black. A great pocket size and looks swish!
