This used to be one of my top 5 juices, but for some reason it seems to have gone downhill. When it was sold in the 30ml glass bottles it was absolutely delicious. Really creamy and minty with a dash of chocolate. Since the regulations came in and they switched to plastic bottles it's really taken a turn for the worst. I don't know if they've changed the recipe, or the plastic has changed the taste, but it tastes almost bitter to me now. I've tried a few of the 10ml bottles now incase it was a bad batch, but they all tasted the same. Maybe they have dropped their quality ingredients as well as their price as it used to be more expensive.

As others have said, that’s exactly what it tastes like. A lovely dessert flavour and after a few years I’m back to this quality range that Vape Club stock. Flavour really comes out on my Innokin Endura 0.9 mesh coil although unfortunate leakage at the beginning which sometimes happens with new coils and tanks:(

Lovely juice. I baulked at first to get it due to the price but it's worth every penny. Nice rich flavour with great depth, nothing artificial tasting. Have just ordered another bottle and will try the shortfill soon.

I don't really do juice reviews, but at this price I felt a strong need to.
This juice is revolting, I have tried it in several different tanks and each of them report back the same.
This juice tastes like mint and a very nasty horrible mint at that, no dark chocolate, no vanilla, I do get an cooling sensation on exhale, but that's it!
I've had better vapes from the market than this.

Really nice balenced flavour. The mint is the primary flavour here with hints of chocolate / caramel but nothing is overpowering. It's pretty expensive but the quality of the liquid is evident.

After reading some of the 5 star reviews I thought I would give this flavour a go. I love choc mint so was excited to receive this vape. On inhale it has a strong mint flavour with a hint of chocolate on exhale. I personally can’t tast the vanilla but that’s only my opinion. I have found the mint is a bit overpowering and takes over from the chocolate exhale. It would be nice if it was more balanced. I think it’s more suited for vapers that like mint flavours. However, don’t get me wrong the chocolate is there, it’s smooth and authentic to taste just overpowered by the mint! I can’t vape this all day as it becomes a bit sickly for me but it’s ok for a change up! I think it will just come down to personal taste. Comes in lovely packaging but a bit overpriced. I think it comes down to personal preference. Authentic flavours just overpowered by the mint!

On Lower temperatures around 14 you can taste a bit of vanilla and sometimes on Excel you can taste a bit of chocolate but overall it is a mint orientated flavour. Personally I didn't like it too much but I think it's more than two personal preference, I like more of a balance. The product itself is solid in quality strong flavour and comes in one of the best packaging I have seen in a 10 ml bottle.
For me this is not an all day vape but it is quite refreshing and I might use it to mix with other flavours. If you like Strong Mints I would recommend this. It Does have a slight mint chocolate ice cream feel to it

Buscaba un líquido que supiera parecido a los bombones after eight, pues sí, pero suave, demasiado suave. No destaca la menta ni el chocolate, están equilibrados. Lo bueno es que puedes vapear todo el día que no empalaga. Pero quien busque un sabor mas dulce y fuerte, este, para mí, no lo es. Seguiré buscando, probaré uno que es edición especial de Navidad, igual se acerca más al after eight.

I tend to stick to menthol berry flavours but have this a shot. The chocolate isn’t overpowering but it’s definitely there. There is a nice menthol hit with a hint of vanilla at the end. Pretty sure I’d get bored of it for an adv but nice for a change up.

Usually a big fan of the Five Pawns range, especially Gambit and Black Flag. Had big expectations when ordering Bowdens Mate, but was left somewhat underwhelmed.
The mint flavour is definitely there but it is lacking a chocolate taste on the exhale. In summary it is just too bland to warrant the premium price tag that goes with it.
Don't get me wrong, it definitely "vape-able" but there are plenty other mild mint flavours out there that will do the job at a fraction of the cost.
Decidedly average.

I'm so glad I decided to try this. It costs a little more than I would usually pay for my liquids, but it's so worth the extra expense. The taste is beautiful, the balance between the chocolate and mint is spot on, neither flavours are too over powering. I love it and will be buying it again.

Boden's Mate is top quality e-juice and tastes fantastic. Works well in 6mg nic for me and I've not smoked since last year so worth every penny. Mixed 1ml Boden's Mate with Risen Enriched 1ml (in a 2ml tank) is superb and highly recommended. A wallet basher sure but better than spending it on actual tobacco any day of the week. Next day delivery from Vape Club. All good and feeling healthier for it.

So, a relatively new vaper, I've been looking for the perfect e liquid that just was perfect from first drag. I've bought over 20 different liquids over the past few weeks and yet to find a single one that's really properly made me sit up and notice. Well, this is it.
Mint and choc flavours are predominant, with the barest hint of vanilla. But I could use this all day long. I'll be getting more, many more.

I'm not a mint or menthol Vaper as it's just not my thing, least I thought that before buying this. This is premium juice, it is very minty/menthol but it's actually decent and I've had many, many worse juices that are not mint/menthol. Give it a go, you may really enjoy it.

I am new to vaping in a bid to get rid of those nasty few social cigs that still have me. I have tried many different kits and many different types of juice and nothing really suited me.......Until now! Bowden's Mate is smooth chocolate flavour, not too over-powering with a cool little menthol hit right at the end which stays with you for a while.
I have just bought the Eleaf mini starter kit along with this juice and I think I have finally found the perfect combo.
Highly recommend.

I was really looking forward to puffing this as I had previously vaped an amazing mint chocolate juice. What's more, the price made me think it must be real high-quality stuff. Sadly I did not find this the case.
Don't get me wrong; it's pleasant enough, but the juice I had vaped previously was imo a lot nicer and it cost £4.99 for 10ml from Amazon UK. Unfortunately it had no nicotine content, which is what led me here. (If anyone is reading this and doesn't need nicotine in their vape, it's called Mint Choc Chip by Diamond Mist. It's incredibly tasty and you can buy 30mls for a tenner less than this.)
The price of this juice is simply extortionate. For 25 quid I expect gold flakes or something, lol. If this cost 15 quid I'd have given it 4 stars but I can't justify that given the price. For Bowden to charge that amount it has to be mind-blowing.
The packaging is nicely designed but tbh the natty little tube it comes in just ended up in the bin. Taste-wise I found that the mint totally overpowered the chocolate, unlike the Diamond Mist juice which was beautifully balanced, however that is merely my opinion and from reading the reviews others have clearly really enjoyed the flavour.
If you're feeling extravagant I would simply warn against expecting too much. Had my expectations been lower I'd have no doubt been more impressed!

OK, so, I'm going to take price out of the equation here as this eJuice is expensive @ £25 for 30ml.
I just got my first bottle of this today from Vape Club and it is fantastic - the best I have tried in fact. The flavour is very complex - on the inhale, a strong menthol hit with a nice soft chocolate taste in the background. On the exhale you get hit with the vanilla, and that is a nice touch also.
I wish Bowden's Mate was a little cheaper. My go-to is Dopamine by BordO2, which is £12 a bottle, so not cheap either. If this was a similar price, it would be my new go-to. I think I'll ration myself to 1 bottle a month though :-)

This is my 2nd review of this delicious liquid. I tried it last year and fell in love with the stuff. Been trying lots of other juices since then, and none of them come close to this one. The flavour i'm still getting is a smooth creamy murray mint with a lovely cooling effect. Flavour never goes dull or mute (vapers tongue) like it does with most other juices. Tastes the same toke after toke and never gets tiresome. I've flown through both bottles at an alarming rate so I've never had the chance to let it steep to see if it gets even nicer. If they did this bottle in 120ml I would buy it in a flash. In my last review I docked a point because the price is so high, but i'm starting to think it's worth the money. Never had a dry hit with this stuff either. My other favourite juice is Snake oil by t-max but I quite often get dry hits with that one

This has been my ADV (all day vape) for some time now , I've tried to find a replacement as this is very expensive , but no joy so far.
It's minty , just like an after dinner mint flavor , not too chocolaty at all , at least not overpowering , some chocolate vapes are very rich , sweet and sickly , this isn't , it's main flavour is crisp , cool mint.
Vaping this on a Snow wolf right now with a Kanger sub-tank mini at around 23 watts.
I would give this a top rating , but the price is a factor. I doubt Five pawns will reduce this anytime soon.

thought I'd treat myself to a top end e juice and this one didn't disappoint, tastes just like Murray mints to my pallet, vaped the whole 30mls in a couple of days; would highly recommend. If you want to spend £24 on it that is.
Vaped on an Xcube 2 with the TFV4 tank at between 57 & 80 watts.

My 2nd flavour from 5 pawns and i must say I'm impressed. Went for the Queenside the first time, and although it was nice, i found the flavour lost some of its fruitness after constant vaping. This one however is delicious every toke. Tastes just like murray mints with a slight menthol cooling in the throat. Not usually a fan of menthols but this juice is very tasty. They really need to think about dropping the price though. A lot of companies do similar flavours for half the price, so i'm knocking 2 stars off for that

Can taste all flavours and it's not too sweet or strong, nice easy vape or something for a change. I liked this juice and the presentation but due to the cost I wouldn't buy it again. Nice as a gift or a special vape occasion.
Used on Wismec RX200 with TFV4 mini at 65w and Smok X Cube with TFV4 at 70w both great flavour and cloud.
Would recommend but price needs to come down in line with other premium juice prices.

Very nice again!
I've tried many of the high rated juices, but still I'm returning back to Five Pawns(Castle Long, Grandmaster, Gambit and now also Bowden's Mate). These liquids are so well balanced and even if they are more expensive than most of the others, they are the best. I've smoked at least a box of cigs per day and spent more than 100 Euro a month on it. Now I spend around 60 Eur per month on Five Pawns and my health, taste improved so much, that I would never go back to smoke tobacco.

So the packaging and marketing of this liquid seems to justify the price tag, however I don't personally think the flavour is worth the money. Peppermint is the overwhelming flavour, combined with the chocolate and it tastes like a protein shake. I don't get the vanilla at all. Overall it's a quality, good tasting vape, but I couldn't justify buying it again. There are better products out there for half the cost such as the Bord02 range. I wouldn't buy again unless they brought out a range of smaller bottles,

What can I say? Simply incredible. Flavour is excellent, with a real depth to it. Sumo sums it up perfectly with Murray mint! Straight off the bat you get a lovely refreshing peppermint, which subtly gives way to a cocoa finish with a dash of vanilla for good measure. It really is hard to put this one down, easily my favourite liquid to date!

Never been a huge fan of minty vapes - but this one changed my mind completely..
A beautiful creamy vanilla/chocolate mint, great vapour production.
The best part of this juice is the amazing complexity, every exhale is minty fresh, but with a lace of chocolate and vanilla cream.
This has to be one of my favourite liquids hands down and i will continue to vape through bottles of the stuff!!
Highly recommended.

I am relatively new to vaping and the first liquid I bought was Five Pawns. Having tried numerous cheaper alternatives, nothing seems to come even close to the taste and quality of Five Pawns. I have now given up trying to find a 'go to' liquid and have made peace with fact that I am a Five Pawns vaper through and through. This is my daily vape and although I am going through on average of 4 bottles a month; it is still cheaper than buying cigarettes. When compared to buying 20 fags at nearly £10...yhis liquid is value for money. Gambit comes a close second to Bowden Mate. These are the only liquids I use now. I am using a kanga sub tank mini with istick 20w

Without a doubt my favourite ejuice after trying close on 40.
As with all Five Pawns juices, the quality is outstanding right from the packaging onward, but this flavour is just perfect.
As others have said, the mint is most prominent but smooth and not like a big menthol type hit. The chocolate compliments it perfectly and gives a creamy luxurious vape especially when sub ohming. Vanilla is very subtle but you can still taste it.
I said to myself I wouldn't use expensive / gourmet juices daily, but have found myself doing so. The difference in quality is worth it, especially compared to the amount I used to spend on cigs. Highly highly recommended.

From all the five pawns reviews I've seen Bowden's mate often gets the worst reviews. The mint is definitely the most prominent flavour here with a quite subtle hint of vanilla/ caramel in the background. Overall taste is like a murray mint! Probably not the best five pawns juice I've had but probably the best minty juice I've had. Doesn't merit the bad reviews you might come across.

All I can say here is quite simply.. If you are a seasoned Vaper like myself, you will instantly, from the first vape, understand why there is such a high price tag on these juices. The depth of flavour is apparent straight away! No 'Bish Bash Bosh + quick steep' process in production here! The flavours are extremely well rounded, balanced, and intensely all there.
Five Pawns are a connoisseur's 'go to' in my opinion & a good set up in hardware is a must to really understand the quality gone into these.
For any wine lovers out there, think this more 'chateauneuf du pap' as apposed to JP Chenet..
