Queenside (18 September 2023)

So the flavour is there albeit faint. The orange and cream flavours are ok but it’s just not punchy enough. A shame as five pawns juices are a favourite of mine

Queenside - steep it (23 October 2015)

Touch suspicious I'd fallen for the marketing/packaging. First tank tasted actually unpleasant. Steeped and it got better. Then in warm tank with a good battery pretty brilliant. I suspect more watts would help. My 30w rather worn.

Taste when firing properly is very smooth and untypically representative of its description with enough smoke to blot out the ads.

Quite nice (16 March 2015)

Tastes like vanilla ice cream with an orange swirl, with a bit of orange zest bitterness, too. A very smooth and flavorful vape but still subtle enough not to overpower my taste buds. Awesome packaging, too, even though maybe a bit unnecessary. This juice has convinced me that Five Pawns is truly a quality brand, albeit pricey - a fact that does lower my score for them to 8 instead of a 9.

Complex, Subtle and Sophisticated. (15 January 2015)

As I'm sure you all know, this juice comes from Five Pawns and represents just about the most expensive product that you can vape. But is it worth it? Does it live up to the hype?
Rig wise, I vaped this in a mini nautilus on an istick from 5 watts right up to 15 watts with air flow at all settings. Personally, I settled on 13 - 14 watts on the max or second to max airflow hole, but it is worth experimenting as the flavours do subtly change with different watts.
The juice, although only a 50 50 blend gives of a nice amount of vape and whilst not a heavy cloud chucker, it does more than adequately give enough vapour to satisfy the needs of the ex-smoker. At 18mg strength, it gives quite a bit of throat hit and if I was going to make it my daily vape, I think I would switch down to 12mg.
Blood Orange, Vanilla and Cream are a perfect description of the overall flavours and these come through along with a hint of sugar/caramel sweetness. Whilst this may seem a simple mix of three flavours, the true beauty of this juice is the way in which these flavours blend and provide a surprisingly complex yet subtle product overall.
The orange seems to be strongest on the inhale before smoothly fading away into a creamy exhale. It's not a massively citrus taste and it brings to mind blood oranges and pink grapefruit, fruity with a slight bitter twang to it. It doesn't taste fake, artificial or overpowering.
The cream seems to really pop on the exhale, but never in an overpowering or smothering way, it's just a gentle background against which the other flavours can shine.
Personally I don't get much vanilla, and it seems to be the weakest of the three main flavours, but it is there and it seems to blend in so well with the other flavours to that it almost disappears.
This isn't a sweet juice by any means, but there is enough sweetness to balance out the rest of the flavours without becoming cloying.
Overall, I would have to say that Five Pawns have impressed me with their masterful ability to blend flavours and create a juice where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Would I recommend it or try it again? Certainly, but this juice isn't for those times when we want a massive blast of citrus or to wrap our taste buds in sickly creamy sweetness. This juice is to relax with and contemplate the depth of flavour and revel in its complex yet subtle sophistication.
