The Vaporesso Armour Max sub ohm kit is a customisable DTL (Direct To Lung) kit with a sleek, heavy-duty design. Compatible with your choice of dual 18650 or 21700 batteries (sold separately), this kit features a 5–220W output that’s ideal for DTL (Direct To Lung) vaping. Each kit also includes a 2ml Vaporesso iTank 2 and two mesh coils to get you started.
Featuring a range of modes, you can set a power level with Variable Wattage and then select Pulse mode to experience an extra boost in flavour. If you’re looking for a deeper level of customisation, try Temperature Control mode and select a max temperature for your coil to unlock different taste notes in e-liquid. If your batter is running low, switch on Eco mode to help your kit last longer. A 0.96-inch screen and simple menu buttons make it easy to alternate between output modes.
The 2ml iTank 2 that comes with this device is top-filling, making it easy to fill up on the go. A 0.2 Ohm and 0.4 Ohm GTI mesh coils are packed into this kit to help you get started, and they’ll produce a deeper flavour and more vapour. We recommend using the Armour Max with a 70% or higher VG e-liquid for best results. The iTank 2 has a built-in, sliding, airflow control function that’ll help you create a tighter or looser inhale.

So my old vape was a Vaporesso Gen 200, and while it was an incredible kit, I managed to break it in a relatively short space of time. This is no fault of the Gen 200, but rather me dropping it a few times a week due to being very clumsy. Eventually the screen broke, but rather than buying a new Gen 200, I decided to find a similar mod but a little more durable. I came across the Armour Max, and the clue is in the name. The kit comes with the iTank 2 which is an upgraded version of iTank 1- I didn't particularly like the iTank 1 due to it being difficult to fill up, especially with chubby gorilla bottles. The iTank 2 takes complaints from iTank 1 and improves upon them. Additionally, with my old kit my batteries would fall out regularly due to the magnetic back (and dropping it often didn't help either), but with the Armour Max, you have to press the button hard to get the battery compartment to open.
The Armour Max also comes with a silicone tank covering, since the mod is quite heavy it would certainly smash your tank if you were to drop it without this on. In terms of flavour and vapor production, no complaints at all. The iTank is known for its flavour and the Armour Max 100% overdelivers in this department. I used the same juice in my Gen 200 and my Armour Max to test this, and the flavour in both tanks was excellent, but noticeably stronger in iTank 2. As for coil durability, I have not had my mod long enough to report, however I have been using the same coil since the kit arrived with no noticeable change in performance yet.
The user interface is intuitive, and the kit comes with a manual lock that you can slide up and down (as well as holding the up and down buttons to lock wattage) which also functions as a fire button. I will admit that it is quite easy to lock the device by accident, but once you get used to where all the buttons are it doesn't happen as often. The screen is a bit smaller than other mods, but this adds to the protection. Where there is less screen, there is less chance of breaking it, which is what happened to my old kit.
The Armour Max kit is a pretty large kit, especially in comparison to my old Gen 200 mod, which I assume is down to the dual 21700 battery setup (it is also compatible with 18650s). This kit will fit in your pocket if your pocket is large enough, but it might not be comfortable. At first, the kit feels very heavy in your hand, but once you have got used to it it's not as noticeable.
All in all, I would recommend this kit for serious vapers, and maybe vapers who are tired of breaking their kits due to clumsiness. The Armour Max is by far the best kit I have ever purchased, and I can see it lasting me a long time.
