Voopoo Vinci Spark220 Vape Kit

Great DTL device for the moderately experienced user (28 December 2025)

Background:
I have been vaping for 3 years now. I started with disposables but because that was expensive and more importantly bad for the environment, I switched to pod kits. First I had a voopoo drag S2 and while I liked the flavour and the vapour, it leaked really a lot. The old pnp coils also burned fairly easily, although I am pretty sure I was using them above the recommended wattage. I also didn’t understand MTL vs DTL, all I knew was that once I had tried 40w, disposables were very disappointing. Last year I got a vaporesso xros 4 as I saw great reviews about it being leak proof, and my drag s2 used to leak like crazy (that was with the old pod which was bottom filling). Well, no matter how hard I tried, the vaporesso also leaked and I had a lot of spitting, to the point my mouth would flood with liquid if at any point I had kept my vape anything but upright and I would have to spit excessively and clean my mouth. A couple of months ago I decided I needed an upgrade and did my research. I realised that the reason why I was never really satisfied with my vaping experience beyond the leaking and flooding is because I have always been a DTL vaper without realising it. I didn’t want to commit to a full sub-ohm DIY tank and mod so did my research on the ready made sub ohm kits. I was torn between Voopoo Drag 5 and the Geekvape Legend 5. I accidentally stumbled across this one and it had a really good price because of the Black Friday sales. I watched/read every review available on all three products and decided to go for this one as it was by far the cheapest, it worked out only £10 more than my old Vaporesso Xros 4 (when bought at full price) plus it had the nicest colours.

The good:
- The Uforce X tank has won multiple awards and I can tell why. The flavour is amazing, I can taste notes in liquids I had never been able to experience before. There is absolutely zero leakage and flooding and spitting are not a problem.
- If you accidentally overfill the tank (more on that later), you still don’t get any flooding of the coil so you don’t have to do anything special to make sure you don’t end up with liquid flooding your mouth which is outstanding when it comes to user experience in my opinion.
- Voopoo have outdone themselves with the pnp x coils. There is a lot more cotton than the old
pnp coils I used with my old Drag S2 and my 0.15ohm has lasted well over 140ml without a noticeable drop in flavour, there is barely any burning or gunk and I have used a dessert liquid (Crispy Coffee by 50 large) and also the iconic Boulevard by Wick Liquor, so definitely not liquids that are marketed as easy on coils. I would say the slight browning started at around 120ml but as I was a bit lazy with ordering more coils, I am still using my original 0.15 and it’s going great, 90% purity of flavour still remaining.
- The mod and tank are very sturdy and well made, I have already accidentally dropped it a few times, including once on the bathroom tiles and at most the batteries fall out. There isn’t a scratch on it. My vaporesso on the other hand had scratches all over within less than a month.
- I have very small hands (petite woman) and this kit feels very nice in my hands. The Drag 5 and Legend 5 are very bulky and that was a concern for me. This kit is far smaller, especially for a 2 battery one and it fits nicely even in my pocket when I am out and about.
- The cloud production is outstanding, even if it annoys my partner and makes it a bit hard to vape in public without being obnoxious, more on that later.
- The LED lights are actually quite cool. I had them off when I first fired up the kit but eventually switched them back on as I found out they don’t really make a huge difference on battery life and are plain cool.
- The two batteries mean I can easily get almost an entire day of vaping off a single charge. Would probably be able to get out more with a battery with higher mAh but as all the good ones were gone when I ordered mine, I am stuck with 2 2547 mAh batteries, the HOHM ones.
- The locking feature is great and easy to use when out and about. Pressing the main button x number of times is really fiddly and with my previous kits I often accidentally switched off my kit instead of locking it which used to annoy me. No such problems with this bad boy. Being able to use the button as a lock for the wattage is also great because you can accidentally change the wattage fairly easily when chain vaping at home.

The neutral:
- The animation and theme options are a bit meh. You get the same animation no matter which theme you select and the animation is just lame. I have that switched off. I enjoy the led light animations though and have those switched on instead.
- The battery remaining isn’t super accurate but I find that to be a general problem with most external battery devices, not just vapes. It stays at 100-80% for a really long time but once it hits 60% each puff lowers the battery remaining by at least a percentage a puff and more so below 30%. It also says battery is at 100% when my charger shows it as 3 out of 4 bars and then obviously the charge falls faster.
- Also, for some reason it always shows one battery with having 2-3% less charge than the other after you vape past the 100% battery charge. I think it favours using one battery over the other slightly more. Since I haven’t had a mod with external batteries before, I don’t know if this is standard or a quirk of my specific device. It doesn’t really affect my vaping experience but it is a little annoying.
- If you charge the vape using a cable as opposed to external charger it charges very slowly even if you have a fast charge plug. However, it is not recommended that you charge external batteries inside a mod so that shouldn’t be a problem realistically which is why I have put this in neutral. I only did this once as my external charger arrived a day after my kit and it was a really frustrating experience not having a vape for 3 hours.

The Bad:
- With the 2ml glass it’s really easy to accidentally overfill the tank, especially when using a 100ml shortfill bottle because the bottle is too bulky to fit snuggly at the top, it’s blocked by the mouth piece and you kind of end up paying attention to the bottle nozzle to make sure it’s in the right place and you end up with liquid coming out at the top on the other end. As I mentioned above, if this happens, you get absolutely zero flooding and just have to wipe down the outside of your tank.
- The knob dial isn’t very sensitive and when using it in the menu or to adjust wattage, you often end up skipping the option you’re after because you end up overshooting how much you need to turn the dial by. It’s not that big an issue when adjusting wattage, but it sometimes feels frustratingly fiddly when you’re in the menu and trying to select a setting with only two options and you keep missing the one you are after.
- While the button works great for firing, it’s not that sensitive when it comes to the 3 clicks for menu/5 clicks to turn off. I don’t know why this happens but sometimes it can be very frustrating.
- I don’t really think this kit would work very well as MTL set up. Maybe if you were to buy the mod only with the Uforce MTL tank, the experience would be different, but even with the 0.3 coil at 35w, the cloud production is insane, even with the air flow closed fully. Which brings me to the next negative. If you are out and about and like me don’t like to be obnoxiously vaping big clouds in other people’s faces, you need to buy a separate MTL device or have a disposable at hand. No matter what setting I try, the clouds are absolutely huge and I find myself trying to find a spot away from others and even so my clouds end up in passersby’s faces. Maybe if I were to get a substantially higher ohm coil and vape at 10-12w, it would work, but that would be so fiddly to change every time you want to go out in public, so a second tank that’s ready to go would be a must.
- I can’t comment on this as I am using the standard tank with the ready made coils but all reviews said the temperature control mode doesn’t work very well. As I am unlikely to start building my own coils any time soon, this is not really a problem for me, but thought it’s important to mention for anyone looking at buying this kit.

Overall Verdict:
I would definitely recommend this kit to anyone looking to upgrade their DTL experience. The flavour and vapour production is amazing. There is zero leaking, the build quality is next level and it’s a very small device for a 2x battery mod. If you’re after a MTL device however or a device to use with DIY coils, this might not be the one for you.

The Voopoo Vinci Spark220 is a solid all-rounder for anyone who enjoys a powerful and "shiny" vape. I’ve been using it for a while, and overall, it’s a great device. The dual 18650 batteries easily last me a full day even with heavy use, which is a big plus. Flavor-wise, it’s decent, not the most intense I’ve had, but definitely enjoyable. Where it really shines is in cloud production, the vapor is smooth, thick, and satisfying. The build feels sleek and lightweight, making it comfortable to hold and easy to carry around. Paired with the PnP X coils, it’s a reliable DTL setup that delivers consistent performance without much fuss.

Very Good (29 April 2025)

I went for the Dark Red model, it fades from Red into Black and I think looks really nice. The Battery Cover is magnetic but as new is very firmly closed, time will tell. The sparkly LED front is really nice, and the display is very clear. The custom options are controlled from the firing button and are easy and precise, and there is an option to use the lock button for power or firing. The unit has a smart option, which automatically sets the optimum power for the type of coil being used, you can increase the power with a twist of the firing button but it won’t let you go beyond a designated maximum for the type of coil being used. Coupled with the tank and coil supplied, it fires easily, produces big clouds, sparkles the LED’s, and shows a vape animation on the screen. It’s early days but my initial verdict is it’s very good.
