How To Guides & Useful Information

Still not sure which pod device is best for you? We’ve answered some common questions related to pods below. Most answers have links to further information should you need additional details or understand some vaping jargon terms. If you can't be bothered to read we even made a video beginners guide to pod devices.

A pod vape kit is a simple vape device that is compact and normally flatter than traditional vape kits which feature a cylindrical tank.

Vape Pod kits are made up of a prefilled or refillable pod and a battery device. Some kits simply require you to inhale to activate, while others require you to press a button  as you inhale.

Pod vape kits work like any other vape kit. E-liquid held in the dedicated pod is heated up by the battery, to the point it creates visible vapour. This vapour is then inhaled by the user.

Inside each pod is a metal heating element known as a coil. It is the coil which converts that power supplied by the battery into heat. Wrapped around the coil is a piece of cotton, or a wick, which serves to soak up the e-liquid that’s held in the pod.

As e-liquid is heated and vapourised the wick will absorb more e-liquid until there is none left in the pod. Once all the e-liquid is used, it's time to either refill or replace your pod, depending on what style of kit you’ve chosen.

When it comes to picking the right vape pod for you, there are important factors to consider, including, what flavours do I like? how high a Nicotine strength do I need? And perhaps most importantly, do I want to refill the pod myself?

Certain vape pods can be filled and refilled with you choice of e-liquid. Known as refillable vape kits, they give you more options when it comes to flavour and nicotine strength. Other pods must be replaced when empty, they are called prefilled or closed pod kits.

To help you find the best pod kit we’ll be running through our top pod picks for 2019.
