Pod kits were developed as a simple alternative to classic vape kits, quickly becoming a popular choice amongst vapers. They work in the same way as a traditional kit, but substitute a glass tank for a plastic pod. The result is a kit that’s smaller and easier to use. Power is created by the kit’s battery which is then converted into heat by the pod’s coil, which turns the e-liquid inside the pod into vapour. Pods and tanks are essentially the same thing in that they both hold e-liquid and heat it into vapour. There are, however, some differences between the two. Tanks are often interchangeable as they use a 510 thread, allowing them to be paired with lots of different vape devices. Pods on the other hand are generally created for specific kits. As well, a tank is very long-lasting but pods are usually either single use or have a limited lifespan. Finally, pod kits are designed to be small, simple and discreet, whereas tank kits tend to be much larger with more features to learn and understand.

As the name suggests, a prefilled pod arrives already filled with e-liquid. They require zero maintenance on your part and can be replaced with another one when empty. Prefilled pod kits are by far the most convenient type of vape kit, but they are not the cheapest option. That being said their simplicity means they are highly recommended to both beginner vapers and first-time switchers.

Button activated pod kits, on the other hand, have an added element of safety as you’ll be able to lock the kit when not in use. Also, if you’re used to button-operated vape kits it makes the transition to a pod kit easier.
