Great if you like rotten bananas (03 December 2015)

I'm very puzzled by the reviews not only of this particular e-liquid but of all the ones I have tried. Leaving aside the fact that taste is in any case very subjective, I get the impression that personal experience of a given e-liquid varies greatly from individual to individual. There are a lot of variables that go into making up one man's (or girl's) experience including the kit they are vaping on, the power setting, the nicotine strength of the juice, the age of the juice (less than one month and it may not have steeped enough), whether the ingredients were properly blended in the first place and whether they have settled out in the meantime, not forgetting how the product was stored a) by the manufacturer, b) by the retailer, c) by the consumer. There are others too but I'm getting off the point. The following is my personal experience with Vampire Vape Funky Monkey (6mg strength, Aspire ET-S clearomizer with BVC coil, Aspire 1600 mAh VV battery):

When I first opened the bottle, I got a chemical smell that didn't bring to mind any of the ingredients supposedly in the liquid. The first tankful, indeed the first half or so of the bottle tasted overwhelmingly of the soft squidgy brown bits of an overripe banana, initially accompanied by a somewhat icky chemical aftertaste that almost made me retch. As I progressed, the rotten banana taste was somewhat attenuated and the last part of the bottle was actually quite nice but only because by this point all that I could taste was the aniseed. The chocolate, at least tastewise, was completely absent at every stage.

Something else that I found off-putting about this e-liquid was that as I got further into the bottle so the juice darkened in colour and at the end I was left with a brown sludgy deposit that coated the bottom part of my tank and clogged up the wick in my coilhead, making any kind of draw an exercise in lung power with both the length of the draw and the ramp up time of the coil growing exponentially. If I was supposed to have shaken the bottle vigorously in order to keep the heavier components in suspension before every fill, they should have made that clear on the bottle.

After this I tried the Banoffee Pie which was far more pleasant but only because all you can taste is the caramel and the banana might as well not be there.

Not great, I think if they just stuck with the chocolate and bananas it'd be a little better but the aniseed kills it - and I like aniseed.

I did not like it much. (08 May 2015)

The product had the same after-taste as all VV products, A poor taste of acrid aniseed and bad liquorice. I would not recommend it unless you have tried VV products before and weirdly enjoyed them.
